Evidence-based medicine was always about making RISK-BENEFIT decisions before doing or not a specific treatment. “Medical Thinking” is real and we doctors have to do it every day because we have a responsability in front of you and the entire humanity.
For that to happen we studied 6 years in college, followed by between 3 and 7 years of residency and continuous education.
Shortly, if one vaccinated child in a million has gotten a mild/severe reaction, while one unvaccinated child in ten thousand has gotten a serious/fatal disease, you probably should vaccinate, even if the one child in a million was your own. You have to really look into statistics, because what you hear about is often distorted by various biases.
